Pack all of your essential items that you will need right after a move into a single box and make sure it's the last thing loaded on the truck or trailer.
Once the decision has been made to move start cleaning out the attic, basement and closets first.
Keep all your cleaning supplies, brooms, mops, etc... in one location, so you can easily find them for a final clean up after your house is packed.
Make sure you have scheduled or transfereed your cable, satellite, phone and utility services.
